ودع مانشستر يونايتد، دوري أبطال أوروبا من مرحلة المجموعات، بعد سقوطه أمام لايبزيج الألماني، بنتيجة 3-2، في المباراة التي احتضنها ملعب ريد بول أرينا مساء اليوم الثلاثاء، في ختام مرحلة المجموعات.

وسجل ثلاثية لايبزيج أنجلينو (2) وأمادو هايدارا (13) وجاستن كلويفرت (69)، بينما سجل هدفي اليونايتد برونو فيرنانديز (80) وبول بوجبا (83).

بتلك النتيجة، رفع لايبزيج رصيده إلى 12 نقطة في صدارة المجموعة الثامنة مؤقتًا، ويضمن التأهل لثمن النهائي، بينما تجمد رصيد اليونايتد عند 9 نقاط في المركز الثالث، ليتجه للمشاركة في الدوري الأوروبي.
